SUMMARY:The resounding Universe | Concert and conference
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 9th July 2024 \nThe resounding Universe | Concert and conference\nwith Nazareno Caputo and Marco Padovani \nfollowed by sky observation through telescope \n  \nThe immensity of the sky and the twinkle of the stars have always inspired humanity and many scientists have been great music lovers or even musicians\, such as Galileo\, Herschel and Einstein. Through Marco Padovani's tales and Nazareno Caputo's music we will explore the evocative and intriguing link between cosmos and music.\n\n\nNazareno Caputo\nClassically trained percussionist\, he specialized in jazz vibraphone under the guidance of Andrea Dulbecco. Active in the field of contemporary music\, jazz and improvisation\, he is among the winners of the 2018 Jazzit awards for the vibraphone category and of the Top Jazz 2021 as best new talent for the Musica Jazz magazine. He released his first album as a leader\, PHYLUM\, awarded in Italy and abroad (best debut of 2021 for The New York City Jazz Record magazine and best album of 2021 for Jazz Music). He graduated in architecture from the University of Florence and combines musical research with architectural research. \nMarco Padovani\n\nHe is head researcher at the INAF-Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory. He is dedicated to the development of theoretical models to understand the role of cosmic rays in the chemical and dynamic evolution of Galactic star-forming regions. Graduated in piano\, he combines his interest in music and astronomy\, giving life to a series of concerts that explore the relationship between these two worlds.

SUMMARY:Final concert and award ceremony of Dante 700 Competition
DESCRIPTION:Final concert and award ceremony of the Dante 700 Competition\n1st October at 21:00\nTeatro Politeama – Prato \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPerformance of the three finalists’ pieces of the competition\, announcement and awarding of the winner \n> Francesco Darmanin (ITALY) – In alto mar per dritto segno \n> Ruggero Laganà (ITALY) – Laudante – Il canto di Francesco \n> Michał Ziółkowski (POLONIA): de natura caelestis \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCamerata Strumentale di Prato | Orchestra Filarmonica di Firenze – La Filharmonie \nNima Keshavarzi\, conductor \nAbout the concert\nThe word «sinfonia» – symphony – entered the Italian language thanks to Dante’s Commedia. It appears in the third Cantica with the verse «the dulcet symphony of Paradise». Coming from the whirling linguistic forge of him who «was of the mother tongue a better smith»\, the word undertook a glorious path in the history of music until today. It is this which in the first place moved two orchestras from Tuscany\, Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato and La Filharmonie\, to connect in an act of gratitude towards Dante\, on the 700th anniversary of his death. Guiding musicians to draw inspiration from the Divina Commedia with an International Competition of Symphonic Composition seemed an appropriate idea to the two institutions. The invitation to dialogue with Dante is offered again in this second edition\, by drawing the composers’ attention on the wonderful verses of the Canto XI of Paradise\, where Dante celebrates St. Francis of Assisi\, a figure who radiates the universal themes of Peace\, Poverty\, love of Nature and respect for the Environment. The three scores will be performed by the Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato and the Filharmonie Orchestra conducted by Maestro Nima Keshavarzi in the final concert open to the public at the Teatro Politeama Pratese. At the end of the concert the Jury of the competition will determine the winner. \nNima Keshavarzi\nPersian by birth\, he studied violin\, composition and conducting at the Florence Conservatory and at the Fiesole Music School. He specialized in orchestral conducting at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels\, at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. Since 2015 he has been assistant to Roberto Abbado in numerous operatic and symphonic productions and collaborates with some of the major Italian and European theaters such as the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome\, the Regio in Turin\, the Palau de les Arts in Valencia\, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna \, the Regio di Parma – Verdi Festival\, Rossini Opera Festival. Co-founder and musical director of La Filharmonie – Florence Philharmonic Orchestra\, he has conducted\, among others\, the Iranian National Orchestra\, the Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato\, the Tehran Symphony Orchestra\, the Arché Orchestra of Pisa\, the Orchestra of the Bulgaria Classica foundation\, the Symphonia Assai Orchestra of Brussels. \n  \nTickets\n30 min before the concert at the box office of Teatro Politeama Pratese \nOnline at the following link: https://www.ticketone.it/eventseries/dante-700-3481026/

SUMMARY:Workshop THE BODY OF MUSIC
DESCRIPTION:In PINACOTECA DEL PONTORMO\, Certosa di Firenze \nSunday 17th sept.\, h. 4PM \nWorkshop THE BODY OF MUSIC\nWorkshop dedicated to people with disabilities\, curated by Ass. Fedora\nAs part of the second edition of FilArmonia\, there is space for "The body of music - musical exploration workshop" conducted by musician and music therapist Mattia Airoldi\, in which people with disabilities are given the opportunity to explore music through the senses and the body \, to discover the emotions inspired by music itself. This exploration is possible thanks to sensory platforms\, a technological device that transforms the sound stimulus into vibration: it is the body that lies down\, it is the body that listens. The workshop\, conceived as a moment to allow participants to approach music in a different way and\, in some cases\, for the first time\, precedes the recital Le Città Invisibili and will see the participation of musicians with their instruments. The LIS interpreter will be present during the laboratory.\nTO TAKE PART IN THE WORKSHOP\, YOU MUST CONTACT ASS. FEDORA:\nass.ne.fedora@gmail.com\n+39 331 76 20 578 (Ginevra)
