Musei in Musica: when music and art speak the same language

Second appointment of a series of concerts inspired by the huistory and the iconography of the main Museums of Florence, in collaboration with Musei Civici Fiorentini and MUS.E.

Peter and the Wolf: a symphonic fairy tale

Once upon a time in Russia lived a boy named Peter. He lived with his grandfather in a small house nearby the wood. Peter was a happy child and he had three animal friends: a duck, a little bird and a cat. But one day a wolf came into the forest near Peter’s house….

Peter and the Wolf is one of the most famous symphonic fairy tales for children which aims at introducing children (and adults!) to music. Through this tale the audience learn how to recognize instrument tones by associating each character of the tale to a different instrument.

Fondazione Salvatore Romano

In 1946 Salvatore Romano gave the Municipality of Florence about seventy art pieces from his personale collection, asking for them to be exposed in the Santo Spirito cenacle as a tribute to the city he loved. The collection juxtaposes a number of very different pieces which however reach an interesting balaced due to their shapes or their intended uses. Among them an high number of sculpted animals.

The concerts start at 11:30  and 15:00

All the events of the project “Musei in Musica” consist of an artistic introduction edited by MUS.E, followed by a music performance by La Filharmonie; the whole experience lasts 1h15 approx. and can be attended with the regular ticket of the museum. 

Full € 7,00 > 18 years;
Reduced  € 5,50 18-25 years and university students;
Free < 18 years, disabled and carer.
