About the concert
The program juxtaposes the Symphony N.4 in D Major Op.21, G.496 by Luigi Boccherini, eclectic italian composer from Lucca, and two major exponents of the Classical Era such as Mozart and Haydn.
This concert starts the collaboration with Centro Studi Boccherini di Lucca which aims at launching a research programm focused on the italian repertoire of the eighteenth century.
Balázs Dolfin
Born into a family of musicians, Balázs Dolfin started to play the cello at the age of 4. Within a few years, he won two national and chamber music competitions in Hungary. In 2010, at the age of 12, he got accepted to the Department for the Exceptionally Gifted Students at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, and started to study with Prof. László Mező. In the following years he won numerous awards and first prizes at international competitions in Austria, Italy and Croatia. In 2016 he was supported by the Bank of China Scholarship and the Annie Fischer Scholarship of the Hungarian Government. In 2018 he studied in Germany with Prof. Gustav Rivinius. He is currently doing his Master studies under the direction of Prof. Wen-Sinn Yang at Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.
Giulio Arnofi
Conductor and artistic secretary of Lerici Music Festival. From January 2022, he is Artistic Director of la Filharmonie – Orchestra Filarmonica di Firenze.He works both as a musician and as a cultural operator. He also gave lectures on history of music. According to his past and upcoming commitments, he worked and will work for the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, the strings of ORT Orchestra della Toscana; Symphonic Orchestra LaVerdi di Milano, the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra, the FVG Orchestra (Music and Symphonic Institution of Friuli Venezia Giulia), La Filharmonie – Orchestra Filarmonica di Firenze, the Young Musicians European Orchestra. Commitments in Romania, Turkey and Mexico.From 2012 to 2018 he has been Assistant Conductor of Accademia Corale V. Veneziani di Ferrara.He studied at G. Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara and at G.B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna, where in addition to Conducting he studied also Composition with M°Cristina Landuzzi. He finished his studies in Conducting at G. Verdi Conservatory of Milan with M° Daniele Agiman.
